Borneo Divers Mabul Island Resort
Located on Mabul island and
adjacent to the famous diving sites of Sipadan, Mabul Island Resort is uniquely
set to shore on a white sandy beach. Thatched-roof chalets, swimming
pool, restaurant, sea-front bar, spa and PADI 5* dive center are
linked through wooden pathways sheltered by palm trees. The resort
is a blend of traditional architecture and nature, the perfect base
to explore Sipadan famous underwater marine life. The resort has a restaurant and 3 bars, pool, professional underwater video and photo services, gazebo spa, jacuzzi, free wifi.
Mabul Island is situated only about 15 minutes by speedboat from Sipadan, and 30 minutes from mainland Semporna, Mabul is recognized as one of the world's best "muck-diving" sites, has a shallow reef profile with sandy bottom and patches of sea grass and also one of the richest single destinations for exotic small marine life in the world.
Borneo Divers pioneered scuba
diving trips to Sipadan in 1984 and guided Jacques Cousteau during
the filming of “Borneo: Ghost of the Sea Turtle”. The
film documented Sipadan’s abundant and beautiful marine ecosystem,
bringing international fame to the island. Jacques Cousteau famously
said of Sipadan “I have seen other places like Sipadan,
45 years ago, but now no more. Now we have found again an untouched
piece of art”. Today Sipadan remains exceptionally rich
in biodiversity and the island could soon be considered a UNESCO
World Heritage Site.
30 wooden chalet with private veranda's, private baths, sitting area, ceiling fan, a/c, safety deposit box, 220v power with adaptor.
Packages Include: Airport transfers within Kota Kinabalu on arrival and on departure, scheduled land transfer from Tawau Airport to Semporna , boat transfers from Semporna to Mabul Resort, accommodations in a semi-detached chalet, all meals plus light snacks and beverages (does not include alcoholic or carbonated soft drinks), 3 boat dives/day between Mabul, Kapalai, Sipadan, Si Amil or Mantabuan Island, unlimited jetty house reef shore diving.
